KENTUCKY'S ARIN GILLILAND TABBED FOR CS360 PRIMETIME PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Junior forward leads the way among 16 from week-4 on the Primetime Performers Honor Roll for Sept. 9-15, with the honorees including the CS360 National Freshman of the Week, Pepperdine 'keeper Hannah Seabert.

Kentucky junior forward Arin Gilliland, a Lexington native, leads the way as the top honoree among the week-4 CS360 Primetime Performers of the Week for Division I women's soccer, as selected by CollegeSoccer360.com (16 total honorees, listed below). Gillilandis the CS360 Primetime Player of the Week while Pepperdine goalkeeper Hannah Seabert (Riverside Calif.) also is a member of the week-4 CS360 Primetime Performers Honor Roll, in addition to receiving the CS360 National Freshman of the Week award.

The versatile Gilliland – who has trained on the back line with the U.S. Under-23 National Team – opened the 2013 season as Kentucky's starting right back but has shifted to the attack in recent weeks, in hopes of jumpstarting the Wildcats offense. The local product proved to be a continual spark during Sept. 13-15 weekend action, scoring (2) or registering the primary assist (3) on all five Kentucky goals – including a huge 2G-2A effort in the 4-2 win at cs360 #15 West Virginia.

Seabert racked up 25 saves spanning 183 shutout minutes vs. a pair of top regional rivals, as the Waves played to a 1-0 overtime win at USC (cs360 #25) before posting  2-0 home win over San Diego State. The standout rookie had a bust two-day stretch while dealing with 47 total shots and 12 corner kicks from the Women of Troy and Aztecs.

The 16 week-4 Primetime Performers include seven forwards, two midfielders, three defenders, three goalkeepers and one "utility player" (D/F), with seven seniors (one a fifth-year), four juniors, two sophomores and three freshmen. The nine include four California natives, two each from Colorado, Florida and Indiana, and one each from: Hawaii, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, New Hampshire and Texas.

... Selection for the CS360 weekly awards is based on any/all of the following "primetime" criteria (i.e. not solely based on raw stats):

• Performed at a high level in a game that could be key to the team's postseason qualification, typically in a game involving a top-50 team from the CS360 Composite National Rankings (or in a game involving a conference favorite/leader from a league not represented in the CS360 top-50).
• In general, preference is given based on the quality of the opponent, contribution to team success and other situational factors involved in the player's accomplishments.
• Exhibited strong leadership and/or involved in clutch performances, such as gamewinning goals, noteworthy comebacks, late scores, momentum-shifting play, all-around performance/consistency, filling role/gameplan, team spirit, etc.
• Overcame adversity or extreme circumstances (for the team and/or individual).
• Bonus consideration is given for key performances away from team's home field and/or against a traditional rival.
• (Note that more players from conferences outside the CS360 top-50 will be honored later in the season, as league races heat up and individual results have greater bearing on postseason qualification).

Listing of the 16 honorees follows below – as do player info. capsules with action photos at bottom of page (headshots in right sidebar).
